David Amdal
During his career David has advised a wide range of airlines, regions, countries and destinations as well as hotel chains and “experience brands” in luxury hospitality and luxury retail. This included work on the largest attitudinal segmentation of adults to travel and leisure ever conducted in Australia.
Currently based in Seattle, he was formerly a board member and head of market research for BIS Strategic Decisions, Asia-Pacific, one of 10 global offices. For nine years previously, David was managing partner of The Acorn Group, a product development group based in Australia.
Prior to Acorn, David was the start-up joint managing director of Spectrum Research (Indonesia), a 5-country Pacific research group best known for devising customer communication strategies; Spectrum was the research partner for The Economist Intelligence Unit in Asia and Booz-Allen in Australia.
He began his career with six years in Madison Avenue-based ad agencies. He is a US and Australian citizen, and a full member of the Association of Professional Futurists.
