Ron Fream

In the midst of a master's degree program in turfgrass management at Washington State University in 1965, Mr. Fream was lured away from his studies to join the golf course design team at Robert Trent Jones Inc. He worked with Jones for four years, then spent three years as a construction supervisor for Robert F. Lawrence and as a design associate with Robert Muir Graves. In 1972 he founded Golfplan, headquartered in Santa Rosa, California. Golfplan provides a comprehensive range of services including land use planning, golf course architecture and design, construction supervision, turfgrass management, landscape design and ornamental horticultural.
Mr. Fream has also collaborated on projects with PGA players Peter Thomson, Mark O'Meara, Johnny Miller and Colin Montgomerie.
Whatever the project – whether creating a new course from scratch or remodeling, renovating and upgrading an older course – Ronald Fream and his Golfplan team take pride in their unsurpassed hands-on and creative approach to golf course architecture.
