Key achievements in environment/social activities
Water
- To ensure self-sufficiency in water, even in the dry season, the architects expanded an existing pond, creating a significant 185 hectare lake. Royal Golf Course does not use any city water, nor does it dig bore holes which would lower the water table. The lake has been stocked with fish and neighboring villagers are encouraged to fish.
Biodiversity
- The course occupies a 142 hectare site which has been enhanced by the planting of trees and natural vegetation.
- Our philosophy is to keep the land as natural as possible and protect trees and wildlife.
Environmental management
- The land on which the golf course has been constructed was not suitable for agriculture, it was mostly grass and rock formations; many of the rock formations have been kept and integrated into the course.
- We are building a special ecological tourism area which will create jobs for local people and increasing income for the local area as well. It will also increase revenue for the state budget, thus helping the whole province.
- No housing on the golf course itself.
Social/community
- All environmental activities have been agreed with local Ninh Binh authorities.
