AUM Business Creations joins IGOLF Corporate Advisory Council
Singapore-based company developed innovative way to turn organic waste into fertilizer and LPG; predicts significant savings
AUM Business Creations, a new Singapore-based company which promotes innovative systems to turn organic waste into fertilizer and cooking gas, has joined the IGOLF Corporate Advisory Council.
Per Dahlen, managing director of AUM Business Creations explains why the company joined IGOLF:
“Golf courses produce large amounts of organic waste – primarily grass clippings and kitchen waste. Usually the course pays for garbage trucks to haul this away.”
Dahlen adds that cost of waste collection, cooking gas and fertilizer runs between US$20,000 - US$25,000 per month in Southeast Asia.
Aumbiz has developed the world’s first small-scale, fully-automated, on-site biogas generator especially developed to turn organic waste from a golf course into cooking gas and biofertilizer.
Dahlen predicts that with an investment of US$300,000 a golf course will be able to reduce costs by up to 60% and at the same time become environmentally-friendly by turning waste into energy, reducing the use of fossil fuels, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
IGOLF Chairman Paul Sochaczewski welcomed Aumbiz by noting that this type of innovative approach resonates with the IGOLF Charter, which promotes waste recycling, renewable power generation and use of organic fertilizer. “While it is essential for golf courses to reduce chemical use, recycle water and provide habitat for wildlife, courses should also look at how the waste they produce can be turned into useful, cost-saving products,” Sochaczewski says. “We applaud Aumbiz’s innovative thinking which will be good for nature, and save courses money.”
The first IGOLF project supported by AUM Business Creations will be the 1st IGOLF Environment and Golf Seminar, to be held October 23, 2008 in Singapore.
