I Girasoli Golf Club - The first European Laureate Course in Italy
IGOLF is pleased to announce that I Girasoli Golf Club of Torino has been named the first IGOLF Laureate Course in Italy.
“I Girasoli Golf Club is a 99% natural course, using no chemicals (except very small amounts for the greens) and only rainwater for irrigation. The turfgrass is all local and the course is exemplary in its overall management,” affirms Tom Rosenfield, IGOLF Board Member and Vice-President for Technical Affairs.
I Girasoli, an “agriturismo” golf and hotel complex was built from family farmland. The goal of Luciano Roccia, founder and creator of the course has been to maintain the integral quality of the land, farmed by his family for generations. It is open every day of the year and is a challenging regulation golf course which includes five par five holes and serves harvest table meals employing locally raised and cultivated products.
“Nature is my architect,” says Luciano Roccia, President and Founder of I Girasoli Golf Club.
