Vision


A healthy, sustainable golf experience

A world where golfers enjoy their sport in an atmosphere of environmental and social responsibility, with appreciation of the health, spiritual, cultural and historic aspects of the sport, and in which golf course operators recognize their responsibility to maintain and enhance environmental and social values.


Mission


To establish norms of excellence based upon environmental and social responsibility for golf courses around the world.


Partnerships


IGOLF seeks to establish norms of excellence based on environmental and social responsibility for golf courses around the world, and works with:


Golfers

  • Encourage golfers to take an interest in the entire golfing experience – sport, health, environment, social, cultural, historic, as well as the intangible joy of playing a game we love

Resorts and Golf Course Operators

  • Provide visibility for courses which adopt the IGOLF CHARTER
  • Provide technical information about best practice, new technologies, opportunities to reduce costs
  • Provide a means for exchange of information and ideas

Media

  • Provide useful information on issues relating to IGOLF’s Mission
  • Encourage media to report on developments in the field
  • Provide awards for excellence in public reporting

Government

  • Provide information to the public about government regulations and legislation
  • Work with local, regional and national governments to promote good practice and appropriate regulations and legislation
  • Partner with appropriate inter-governmental agencies

Golf Industry

  • Work with industry partners to encourage the development of appropriate technologies and promote their use

Academic Institutions

  • Develop partnerships with leading universities and technical institutes to support and promote technological advances relating to water use, agronomy, energy conservation and other disciplines relating to IGOLF’s mission.

Non-Governmental Organizations

  • Work with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to achieve mutually-agreed targets
